Comments can be easily closed individually for each post or generally at Settings > Discussion. To close the comments for only a post or to open them follow the steps below.
Press screen options at the right edge at the top.
Untick the box to close the discussion for this post, if you want to disable the pingbacks&trackbacks untick the last box.
